Cottage Central

Accessibility

  • The Disability Discrimination Act places a responsibility not to discriminate against disabled people. Cottage Central encourages owners to take all reasonable steps to enhance accessibility to their holiday let properties.  However, it should be noted that many properties advertised through Cottage Central may not be suitable for people with mobility restrictions or for wheelchair use.  This may be due to the age, style of the property and the topography of the area
  • Please remember that many of our properties are period properties dating back many years, some of these properties have characteristically sloping/low ceilings and doors and beams throughout which add to the charm of the property, they may further have narrow and twisting staircases all of which serves to add charm and character to the property but may cause problems for people with mobility restrictions.
  • Cottage Central will endeavour to ensure there is enough information to make an informed decision through the cottage description and access statement.  However please make your needs known to us so that we can liaise with the relevant Cottage Owner/s and we can source a detailed access statement direct from the owner if requested. If in doubt Cottage Central can put you in direct contact with the owner to discuss your particular needs.
  • Within the access statement area on the Cottage description there may be a recommendation to have access to a car due to the rural isolation of any particular property.
